The VST measures deeper layers of the ground that might not be picked up by other test devices that penetrate just the top layer of the surface.
The VST’s deep measurements provide valuable information on how different layers of the surface react to water, weather and maintenance. For instance, if a course has been watered but the lower layers are still dry, or if the ground has dried out after rainfall, the VST provides precise data on how supportive, firm or heavy the track is.
