FROM POINTS TO PATTERNS

Keep the detail.
Explain the main findings.

Averages help summarise a course. Point-level data and maps show what that average includes.

Individual locations

GPS points, recorded readings and notes. Labels can identify furlongs, sectors, routes or features relevant to the venue.

Routes and sectors

Separate summaries for chase and hurdle routes, round and straight sections, or agreed eventing sectors.

Variation and trends

Ranges, variability and comparisons across visits, racing lines or maintenance. Comparability depends on the sampling plan.

Practical commentary

A short explanation of the main differences and their context, with one-to-one discussion where included.
